We had a "sort of" day off today - Matthew did have karate camp 8:30 - 12:00 and then my plan was to pick him up, drive over to MOSI to spend 30 or 40 minutes until it was time to go across the street to USF for his Speech Clinic. Well on our way there, our speech therapy clinician called to say her child was ill and she had to cancel. I gave Matthew the option - turn around and go home (which was my choice) or go to MOSI anyway and spend a few hours. He chose, of course, to go to MOSI but the nice thing was we didn't have to rush and pick just one exhibit! It was almost like a free day - sad, isn't it, when a still packed day seems like a "free" day just because one activity gets cut??? LOL!
We had a great time at MOSI - they have really revamped that place SO much! We enjoyed the space exhibit...flying an aircraft and learning to work robotic arms. The boys were very interested in the human body exhibit...I didn't realize the fetuses they had on display were real at first...Matthew kept saying how "realistic" the models of babies were! Patrick fell off his stool at the genetics kiosk - proving he has my clumsy genes! We even had time for an IMAX movie! We saw "Dinosaurs, Alive!" which was really good and Patrick was so cute in it. He did better than I expected without a nap too!
We still had to fly back to Brandon since they boys both had chiro appts at 4:30 and we had to go through that lovely afternoon storm. Matthew was so disgusted and said "why does it have to storm every day in June!". That's Florida for you, baby!
